Is theater in Paris romantic and Romantic? Yes indeed, Romantic with a capital “R” as in Romanticism and the Great Romantics.
The Age of Romanticism lives on not only in the streets, parks, buildings and cityscape but also and mainly in the hearts and minds of countless Parisians—and on stage.
On stage right now in Paris in 2015: plays by or featuring George Sand and Victor Hugo, plus a dramatic poetry reading at one of the city’s best theaters by one of France’s best actors, Fabrice Luchini… readings from Baudelaire, Rimbaud, Flaubert et al… wild!
Stay tuned for more on Paris and Romanticism (and romance) on this blog and in my upcoming book, A Passion for Paris, on bookstore shelves as of April 28, 2015. It’s already available for pre-order from Indiebound.org, from your favorite local indie bookstore or, if you must, from the usual on-line booksellers.
