Dying to get away from the Eiffel Tower crowds to the Parisians’ Paris?
Let’s be real: It’s gotten tough to find undiscovered, mob-free places on the Parisian A-list. I’m talking about areas where you can walk, talk, breathe or maybe even run and get some exercise. I’ve lived in Paris’ bobo (bourgeois bohemian) heartland—the Marais—for 26 years and sure, who wouldn’t love it? But I also crave greenery and quiet places sans tour buses or self-adoring hipsters.
That’s why several times a week you’ll find me airborne, rambling under trees due east of the Bastille Opera House on the Promenade Plantée. It’s the world’s first aerial, linear park, the one that inspired the High Line in New York City. Keep reading
