Fun in the sun (and rain) department: spend a spell with yours truly and author and fellow Paris card — Harriet is known for her contagious laughter and irreverent sense of humor — Harriet Welty Rochefort tooling around the Luxembourg Garden and surrounding streets. We share insights, jokes, tips on Franco-American cultural differences, plus places to have coffee, eat, drink, be merry, read poetry off walls (not off the wall poetry, editor’s note)… All this for free, naturally, on the indispensable Paris website Bonjour Paris… Here’s the lede and a link, plus some photos I snapped of Harriet just for fun…
Where can you see the daily spectacle of George Sand, Charles Baudelaire and Frédéric Chopin – not to mention Harriet Welty-Rochefort – striking significant poses as if resurrected from the dead?
Easy: in the Luxembourg Garden. Stone effigies of Sand, Baudelaire and Chopin lurk amid the gorgeous greenery of the garden’s meandering paths, and I for one pay homage to these Romantic idols several times a week.
